About Gabriel
Attorney Gabriel Jose Carrera was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Mr. and Mrs. Justo Jose Carrera. His parents were Cuban exiles who fled Cuba’s political turmoil in 1962.
Gabriel would later attend Florida Air Academy, in Plantation, Florida and Daytona Beach Community College in Volusia County. Gabriel, who is fluent in Spanish, has personally traveled to various Spanish-speaking countries working for non-profit organizations. He currently travels to various Spanish speaking countries serving clients in consular processing, and he provides in-country mock Adjustment of Status interviews for the client's appointment with the U.S. Embassy.
Gabriel is a former employee of the United States Small Business Administration: Disaster Assistance Office (SBA) in Fort Worth, Texas, and he is very knowledgeable in the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedure and Federal regulations. Gabriel’s responsibility with the U.S. SBA, in its Legal Department, was assisting Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Wilma victims with their application for low interest disaster relief loans.
Gabriel currently practices in the areas of U.S. Immigration & Nationality, Family Law, Divorce, Personal Injury, Contracts, and other Florida Civil and International law.
Education
- Juris Doctorate Degree, with a Concentration in International Law. Certificate from The Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Prestigious member of the Shepard Broad Law Center Moot Court Society and the Pro Bono Honors Society.
- Masters in Communication: Concentration in Computer Mediated Communication from The School of Communication, at the University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut.
- Bachelors in Arts Degree: Cum Laude, in Politics and Government, concentration in foreign policy, from the University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut.
- A three year Theological Degree from World Harvest Bible College, in Columbus, Ohio.
